liam-pantera
or8 guys now i know a few of us arnt realy into grinds for reasons like modulation and rim life so i decided to make this guide to show you how to turn a painted sidewall rim into a smooth pad ready rim .heres a pic of a painted sidewall tryall .as u can see unlike most other tryall rims it is painted not anodised , becuase of this the braking is dramaticly reduced and the paint wears away slowly so im gonna show you how to strip it . first of all u want to put a strip of masking tape on either side of your spokes to protect the part of the rim u want white , next pour some nitomours paint remover onto a rag and wipe around the rim making sure the rim is dry , your not trying to remove all the paint with this your just trying to brake it down abit . next either get a abrasive drill bit or a sanding pad for a angle grinder and go around the whole rim until it is shiny below is an example of the drill bit im talking about .once you have done this and the rim is completely smooth and silver wash with cold water and some form of grease remover if u like and leave to dry , and there you should have a rimbreak ready rim add a small amount of tar with zoo pads for some incredible bite .Also i thort id just leave a few names of pads witch work well with this combination.zoomonty 221 xlecho 05vizonza citrus coolstop redsplazmatic spanish flysrock greens and rember add tar in small amounts hope u like my guide . Token
Good little guide there matey, would go nicely in the wiki. Shame you didn't resize the pics though, they are massive.
Greetings
I'd just put some sand paper between the rim and pads and ride around while braking gently.
