eskimo
Unsure on where i should of posted this but as trials-forum has clearly more input into the subject i thought i'd post here.So..Been considering some new pedals for the trials bike and haven't found too much. But Firmbikes are doing some Animal pedals in grey which looks swish as fook so i might get some of them. But never having rode them looking for some input.I'd be looking at removing the middle pins and replacing the rest with longer pins for added grip while riding. Currently i'm finding myself loosing grip on my DX pedals but that maybe due to shoe wear? But any how i like buying stuff so any input is appreciated. joshywa
Thought they only come in 9/16 (3 peice bmx cranks) thread ? if not then yeah they'd do, have a mate who has them on his bmx and they seem fine !
James-M
If they're anything like Gusset Slim Jims, I wouldn't get them, as I have a pair and they're sh!t for grip, when they get wet they're terrible. eskimo
Price? and were from? they look reyt nice, replacable pins i take it?Get some and tell me how they are haha.£30 from Firmbikes. They're basically gusset slim jims.I had some Slim Jims and the pins started to rip out on my first ride so i soon swapped them back to JC pedals and sold the Slims before i done any further damage.I fogot about this topic. But i wouldn't mind some more feedback before i invest. I might put some longer pins in a pair of my JC pedals and see how they go on the trials bike as they do take a bashing. ollie2000
ive heard there crap never tried them myself (im guessing your getting the sealed version which is probly better)
streetjibs
iv had two sets of hamiltons... very good pedals. Get the sealed ones and u got no probs!Comes with spare pins, strong body, held well for doing pedal grinds and even learning pedal stalls!! I had a set on my aitken, and a set on my later edwin.. both held up longer than the frames did! Id only suggest maybe looking at FLY BIKES Ruben's ... these things are tuff, and look a ton better designed imo.If u can get the sealed hamiltons at a good price do it ... comes with a mad stencil for your animal represent taggin!danny

Mark W
They're basically gusset slim jims. They really aren't. Different body, spindle, bearing, design, amount of rear-loaded pins, etc.Thought they only come in 9/16 (3 peice bmx cranks) thread ? if not then yeah they'd do, have a mate who has them on his bmx and they seem fine !9/16" is the same as trials size, and every other type basically. 1/2" was used on shit 1piece cranks, that was it.If they're anything like Gusset Slim Jims, I wouldn't get them, as I have a pair and they're sh!t for grip, when they get wet they're terrible. They aren't, see above ive heard there crap never tried them myself (im guessing your getting the sealed version which is probly better)My first set of sealed Hamiltons had the bearings blow in 4 days. The second set lasted better bearings wise, but you *have* to strip them and bosh loads of grease in or they'll be loud as hell no matter how new they are. The bearings don't last too well either way.iv had two sets of hamiltons... very good pedals. That's what meant I had to get a new set of pedals, 'cos the back row of 3 pins on both sides of my right pedal were f**ked, and the side pins were dead too. The body went kinda mirror finish, and totally grip-less. Not convinced by the sealed model, 'specially at £50+, but the unsealed ones are OK. Only problem with mine now is that I bent the f**k out of them doing relatively little. I really wouldn't have expected them to bend doing what I did, but there we go.Wouldn't go for the Fly pedals - notorious for the bearings blowing out, plus they're expensive as hell!New Attila pedals look pretty good on the other hand, both the unsealed and sealed. The new Odyssey Trailmix pedals should be awesome, as should the new Premium pedals if they ever come out any time soon. Could always follow trend and get some Odyssey Twisted PC pedals? I used to run some on my old trials bike, and they were actually really good. Surprisingly grippy in the wet, lasted well, light as hell, pretty cheap.
