MadManMike
I asked before, but need clarification:I have a wheel with quick release for the front, but am bidding on some 20mm bolt through axle forks - do I need to get a new hub or what do I do?Slight dunce when it comes to this
Si-man
What front hub is it?If its a hope, im sure you can get a 20mm bolt through adapter thing. Otherwise, im pretty sure you may need to purchase a new hub.ProII allows the use of both QR and 20mm
Greetings
Yeah you'll need some adaptors. If the forks you're getting have a QR20mm mount, just get some bushings made - 20mm outer diameter and 10mm inner diameter. If you're getting a Sherman with that hex axle or something along the lines of the old Monsters where the 20mm axle was threaded, you'll need to get special adaptors a new hub. MadManMike
Hmm,In that case, know of any decent 150-160mm travel forks that use Quick Release as opposed to 20mm bolt through?
Si-man
Id still get 20mmAlot stiffer and stronger than qr.only £40 or so for a hub
MadManMike
Just buying the forks is stretching the budget mate, really can't afford a hub too I'm selling two things to buy the forks!
Onza Kieron
Hmmmmm, Junior T's are around 160 i think haha. But I would SERIOUSLY reconsider forks that long if they're going on your DMR.
Shaun H
Long travel and Q/R REALLY don't mix!Spend the extra honestly.

MadManMike
What's the difference anyway?Serious question, what sets front hubs apart? I mean they don't do anything do they, just spin!Fair enough you don't want a cheap unbranded one, but I just don't understand what makes expensive ones - expensive? Daffy04
Axle strength if you do a jump an nose dive the bike at a funny angle so the forks dont take much of the impact the all the impact goes on the wheel and hub.
mr_malcolm
i think the marzochi all mountains are 140mm travel a little bit less then you want but stilland i dont think they need 20mm axels
Lawnmowerman
I'll sell my 170mm 66vf forks with a black pro2 if you fancy them?
Jamie_Neal
I've got an unbranded one that came built on my Halo Combat 24 Some of the Halo ones came with 20mm adaptors - may be worth looking into (If it was a Halo wheelset that is). Although I know some didn't. Edited October 2, 2007 by Jamie_Neal

Lawnmowerman
£300? Both mint, just some cable rub on the crown and they could do with the rebound setting, I haven't got the tool to do it. It's like a 40cm long allenkey.
