Basically, is the rs50 any good? ive just bought a 99 S reg supersport with an arrow front pipe and flatside carb for 200 pounds.....What chance is there of it blowing up, and how fast will it go wityh the above mods?

Cheers, Alex

yeah theyre good as long as you maintain it. What do you mean by arrow "front" pipe? just the expansion chamber bit? and what carb is it? Dellorto? and whats the mileage? errm should hit about 60, but theres probably something wrong with it for that price <_<

I'm not one for slagging stuff off, but no "50" is good.

I'd wait til I was a little older and get a 125 at the least but whatever floats your boat!

true, but the reason i have a 50 is cos i need it for college, work and i want to do my big bike test in march next year before it changes, so i will stand a chance of passing with the experience from a 50.

Im the same, i need my 50 for getting to college. It's got an Arrow expansion chamber with a dep back box from a dt125 ( also have stock one, but the dep came on the bike ) and a dellorto flatside carb. It's done 130025km from new, and the indicators dont work and it has no mot....yet. It also looked rubbish.....halfords spray painted black, so i resprayed it ktm orange and gloss black.

Rs50's are good and fast for what that are, like all italians they blow up, but with a little mechanical knowledge a top end job on a 2 stroke is not work whatsoever, sorta thing i could do in half n hour, minus a rebore/hone of course. Personally id get something an AR50 or something, nice n cheap, ur only gonna keep it fr a year so dont spend over a grand on it, its pointless.

What does the bike cost? The indicator problem is either, SWITH or RELAY, if not its the wires inbetween, all nice n cheap to sort.
