okay anybody with refs, you might already know that the references section is gona be deleted on the 2nd Oct.

anybody with 4 or more refs, if they want I dont mind taking your refs page and hosting it for you. You'd get a link that you could put in your sig or whatever and just means that all your effort you put into being a good dealer wont of gone to waste.

Your link would be something along the lines of:

www.scopse.plus.com/references.htm

I've already done mine as you can see, just thought it may be an idea.

If you want your references saved, and given a link (which I'd PM you) then reply in here, remember I'm only going to host your refs if you've got 4 or more.

You might want to ask tomturd/Danny about this. Everything is moving over to the new system for a reason, and you're just complicating it. It's a nice idea, but just check first.

I can't see TF running out of bandwidth due to the huge workload of keeping references or anything.

lol aye I know TF has got plenty of Bandwidth and has the ability to keep the References if needed, but some people have like 2 pages worth of Refs, that's like 20-30 refs. I doubt your going to be able to get all 20 people who left you a ref to write a new one in the new Feedback system. Hence if it's hosted you have the ability to keep them all for a long time rather than have a 5 day deadline to get them all switched over.

I don't really see any point in this. We can leave the old references threads there for now if people really want them but the new system is much better. Any really old references are perhaps not accurate anyway.

I dont use F/s wanted much anyway..... but i have made 4 sales with great feedback

Ive given them the appropriate feedback on the new system, and PM'ed them with links to my feedback page, the topic and explaining and being really nice about it.... and 0 of them have left me my feedback.... it doesn't worry me that much but if you delete all the old ref's pages i wont have any ref, if i fancy buying something on here in the future

Genrally i dont like buying on here and i never sell anything cos im a ride it till it breaks then bodge it up kinda guy! hahaha but still would nice to have some achnoledgement (sp?) of the very good previous service ive offered

I think they should be kept on tf, but hidden away nicely so they're not in the way n shit, maybe keep them on something like www.trials-forum.co.uk/oldrefs or something or other?

The old references system is pretty out dated and full of 'fake' refs, for example mates who say they're amazing and never let them down... Storing them on a different server won't make them valid or any more trustworthy - which is the main reason for moving them over to the new system. Either way feel free to offer this, but I'd recommend members get their refs moved over. For people who can't find the topics relating to their refs, a rule was made years ago that every ref must also have the URL to the trade.

Maybe put a fat notice thing up, saying 'If the ref hasn't got a link, don't belive it!' if it was to be moved to a place like .co.uk/refs or something?

Personally the feedback rating will be so much easier it saves looking through topics upon topics for peoples references when you could just click on there details to leave feedback.

Then it wasn't a Trials-Forum sale. And why are you disputing a rule that has been in place for a long time and should already be adhered to?

EDIT: as for this refs lark, it's a nice idea and all but i dont think it's entirely neccersay to upload the old refs, just start a fresh. Everyone is in the same boat so we'll just have to build up our refs again? big deal.

this is quite a tight knit ocmmunity, scammers wont get away with it.

It's nothing to do with the communication, there needs to be a link to the actual thread to prove it was a real TRIALS-FORUM sale. You dont just come on TF and for example, PM tomturd saying "you got a bike for sale mate?" to which he replies "yeah sure £200 and its yours".

There is always a thread somewhere, and if there isn't then it's not being sold on TF is it?
