Chris Elson
Right peeps.Basically, really weird stuff was appearing on my Echo urban forks which I have had a long time now, sort of looked like the lacquer was coming off lol. So I've used some wire wool to take the rest of the lacquer off. I've polished them up abit. Because I've taken the lacquer off will it mean my forks will get affected in any way, as in corrosion. Hope I have explained it alright. Cheers
Clownbike
I get you!I'm not sure on the material of the Echo Urban forks, but i sanded my Koxx Forxx down and they came up beautiful and i just left them like that. No discolouration that i've noticed. Somebody will give you a definate answer soon though ..... sorry i couldn't be of more help!Neil
willy wonka
they will oxidise and then look a bit scruffy (will go a bit dull)but it wont affect strength so much that they will snap, it might affect them in the slightest. dano
surely not? aluminum doesn't contain iron so it wouldn't?
tomturd
listen to da mitey chocolat man. hes rite.Banned.YES, this guy knows his stuff.anyway, ignoring the loser..the alluminium will oxidize in the same way as rust is made on steelbut obviously alluminium wont rust, it just oxidizes instead.Banned.If have to be a cock, at least use a proxy or something, so your IP's don't match
*Tom*
They might get little white spots on them from salt off the road, my echo lite frame did on the bottom of it after i was out in the rain, comes off with a little bit of polish though i think thats about the worst that'll happen.Tom
Barbara Logan-Price
Banned.Banned.If have to be a cock, at least use a proxy or something, so your IP's don't match lol ownedi doubt it will affect them as some frames don't have lacquer on. Krisboats
Without lacquer things like greasy fingerprints show up quite well... and the forks will generally get slightly duller as time goes on. You could always just re-lacquer them though. Doesn't take long at all.
Token
Rub mercury onto them*. (lacquer's got to be the easy option to keep your forks looking nice)*dont actually do that, unless you want them to vanish.
Alex Dark
The forks turn dull and lose their shine, you might notice a slight white tinge to them as well, you're best off wire wooling them, then polishing them and re-lacquering them in my opinion
