I had the same problem with my laptop, I have really spent ages on finding a solution for the webcam, finally found it few days ago.

The bookmark is on my laptop so I will post it here later :)

I got the webcam working by uninstalling then installing the drivers :) . Still can't get the quick play buttons to work though. :(

If you can, get into the case and unplug the drive (computer off of course). Then reboot and remove all the drivers from device manager. Then plug it back in - Windows should find it again and install the right drivers.

Reet, hi.

I got given a broken computer from someone my Mum knows, it was missing the jumper of the back of the HD, so I put one on.

It boots up to the Windows XP loading screen, then the bar goes really slowly, then the screen goes onto standby, if you turn it back on, it says no signal input.

Interestingly, the computer will not load linux either from a live CD, gets the boot screen up fine, just doesn't go any further.

Any ideas? Where would be a better place to ask? I presume there is a forum as big as this one for mending this sort of thing somewhere.

EDIT: Come on guys, just give me the url of a forum and I'll be happy, I found one which has 8K members so I signed up, but I want to know which ones you lot rate.

This is my problem, I need to know of another forum.

Ok, i think i will have to do that.

I have Tiscali Broadband, and got a mini laptop type thing from school (They don't use them anymore) And just wondered if i'll be able to just plug it into the phone/network socket thing and it'll work?

I'm pritty sure that will work.

What steps can i take to reduce the amount of RAM windows vista uses? :)

In the performance options you can alter the visual settings, turning all of the options off will reduce usage a bit but not overly so. Although would probably just be best to buy some more.
