Hmmm, im not sure on this one mate, I mean its not really a trials brake, more of a xc brake so mite not stop you sharply etc but im guessing you going for the cheapness, and the size of the rotor. Now if I had the choice, I would never anything made but that company, but thats my opinion. I would go for something like a bb7 or even a hope as you can pick these up pretty cheaply off here.

But its up to you mate, I mite be completely wrong and could be a great brake! Does anyone have one of these? maybe they could help more?

A good hope - about 50- 60 for the 05? one and above 75 for the newer one, a bb7 can be found reasonably cheap but it depends what it is ( caliper on its own/what cable/what lever) I got mine for free off Joe Maher lol but they can be about 40 quid or about 50 quid complete, and a rear hs33 can be bought for about 30 quid of you look places and pads are reasonably cheap also.

My sister has them on her New Saracen Raw 3 DH bike.

They are quite strong but the rotor is abit too big for trials in my opinion.

I don't think they are as sharp as you might want for trials like Maggies or a hope.

But i honestly don't know if you should go for them or not. Possibly wait and see.

I prefer maggies to disks anyway.

Ok thanks, two more thing, where can i find the BB7 on CRC. And any recomended chainstay guards please, i'm looking into getting one.

BB7

There is the link to the BB7, if I were you, I would get an Avid sd7 lever to go with it.

Also try and get some decent brake cable to go with it, this will make the brake feel better.

160mm will be plenty for a mod aswell.

Here is the link for a chainstay protector.

But I found wrapping an old cut up inner tube around the chainstays, held on with cable ties will work fine.

Thanks for the linky, very helpful. will that chainstay ACTUALLY protect my bike though.

I'm not worried about the chain making grease marks on my frame, if it would I'd get a chain tensioner.

I want something that'll protect from wood, concrete and other objects, (i seem to be getting a lot of scraps on my chain stay).

Cheers
