What Bike Is Better

Python definately my brother's mate had a PR,it snapped under the down tube and the geo was all wrong.

The only advantage that the PR has over the python is that it has a rear disc mount but you can always make a mount for a python.

please tell me how that is an advantage?

Well, stating the obvious, you can have a rear disc frame at a reasonable price. As said, Dual disc is good, if its set up right...don't knock it until you've tried it.

Whats with the disc loving, discs are crap on the back. Just have a well set up maggie or vee brake.

Whats with the disc hating? You ride a Zoo and you haven't a clue about rear discs; maybe someones bike that you rode once upon a time with a crappy setup. Discs do have a lot of hold and are sound in all weather conditions.

Ask anyone with an 07 Hope on the rear what they think of it and usually the feedback is rather good. They pretty much set themselves up if they're bled well, and then you only need to worry about buying new pads several months down the line. I'd say the only downfall is smacking the disc on walls...but I've never done it yet.

Compared to HS33's, yes they're good solid brakes...but personally they're build to toy town standards, the TPA always f**ks up, the pads disolve infront of your eyes and to get a decent brake out of them you have to ruin your rear rim.

Meh, each to their own I suppose; but I know what I'm sticking with :)

i totally agree with you mate, personal preference, but trials just isnt trials without a squeaky rear brake ;)

on a more serious note, have you ever used coustsink pads? coustsinks and a echo '07 rim quite frankly wank all over any rear disc in my opinion

rear discs are really nice, hold like a whore and everything, but im way to scared to side hop a rear disc frame, cause ill most likely twat the disc lol

Zoo Python is the nicer riding frame in my opinion...But everyone is different and feels better on different geometry etc.

I only like the Zoo pythons from 2005 and lower. The 2006 and 2007 have both felt awful.

Monty's have always felt to light and short for my liking.

It's all a case of what you feel comfortable on.

Danny.

the advantage with a pr is that it is dual disc but python is probably better

That isnt a adavantage as personally double disk feels rank and rim brake gives you much more feel and controll.

Answer to the topic is that really there is no answer, because neither are better as they have different geo so suit different riders.

The geo was all wrong :S that is one of the most sucsessfull mod geos around

And as for people saying they crack well im pritty sure a few pythons have cracked.

And as for people saying discs are better as they work in wet well thats not always the case. Rear disc feels horrible in my opinion, they dont hold as well as rim brakes especially vee brakes, discs arnt always better in wet but yeah are usually better in muddy conditions; they can be tempimentral as sometimes works other times doesnt and you get brake fade. If you ever split oil on your disc you would have to buy a new disc where as rim brakes you just clean rim and pads. I think to many people just go and run double disk these days because they imediately think because its a disc it will be better.

Monty 221PR for the win, not just becasue i have one but i have rode deng frames and they feel nice although a bit long and slightly heavier. The PR has a perfect geo and feels perfect length, only problem is that you could say the bit were a seat would normally go on a normal bike is that it smacks you in the ass check from time to time on sidehops if you dont tuck fully to the side (N). But overall the Monty is a decent riding bike.

Thanks Hendy ;)
