neomember
I might be able to get my hands on a new Adamant A2 frame. Never had a trials bike before. I'm just starting.I need to decide quick.I really want it cheap. I have enough bike already. I have two Sun Rhyno Lite rims i can put... maybe i can find some V's.I have a lot of questions...Do you guys know the rear hub spacing on these frames? Can't find the specs anywhere. What would be a cheap drivetrain solution to put on that bike. Can i fit a rear mech? What kind of BB? Do any 1 1/8" fork will do??Thanks!! Greetings
Hub spacing is 135mmYou can fit a rear mechYou'll probably need a 128mm wide bb with a 68mm shell.Any 1 1/8" fork will fit that frameCheap drivetrain solution - Echo Forged cranks, ACS freewheel and a fixed MTB rear hub like DMR, Reborn. mountian goat
i saw that and was very tempted. beautiful white frame, reasonably cheapish (found one about 160) and good brand.Although i don't recommend making a new bike as your first starter trials bike, as your knowledge may not be great yet and you may fu*k it up the day you get on it doing some silly trick, either buy a cheap trials bike first hand like i have done, shogun gimp 07 for 200 quid, or go for a second hand decent bike. Be careful on Ebay though, sometimes its too good to be true.Hope i helped, good luck!P.S if you choose to buy a cheap started bike, ill show you a few i found under 300 quid. mairomaster
If you have the possibility to start directly with this frame do it I started with the same frame and my progress was very good. If you don't have money for magura you can put some cheaper v's but its not very good idea, and it may cost you the same price... One good and not much expensive drive train: Echo forged cranks, Try-all bottom bracket, ACS freewheel, Echo fixed rear hub.
neomember
oh my god... don't know what to do. Either i get a very cheap dedicated trials bike or make my current street bike feel as trial-ish(and lightweight) as possible.I don't know... the deal looks fishy to me and it doesn't have a freakin' seat I've just bent a rear disk and a dropout two days ago. So i guess rear disk + aluminium frame are not recommended for trials riding. The dropout is made out of a 7mm thick aluminium sheet for the love of god. Couldn't remove the wheel anymore.I've been thinking of buying a DJ Cr-Mo frame more suitable for trials. How about that:Planet X Pitbullhttp://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=8685+Truvativ Holzfeller Trials Crank 22Thttp://www.unrealcycles.com/catalog/item190.htm+maybe a HS33 in the back...What do you think about the frame geometry(10mm BB drop???). Looks a bit like a Norco Moment geometry... do you think???Can't fit a chainguide with that cranks though. Is it possible to bunnyhop without having the chain slipping??
