Bar Height?

Ok. Firstly I.m completely new to all this so go easy on me!

Been riding mtb's for a few years now. Can trackstand for ages so my balance isn't too bad. A friend of a friend had a trials bike he never used so offered him a few quid and bought it off him. I know its not a brilliant bike but thought it'd be ok to try and learn on. It's a Diamondback (stock 26" wheels, hydraulic rim brakes)

My problem is, is that I find it easier to balance on my mtb than I do this. The bars seem far too low for me (I'm 6"2) and I wondered if it would be easier to learn on if I raised the bars a way??

Any advice appreciated.

aint a diamondback T-1 is it?

the only thing i can suggest is trial and error, test what you like. its all personal preference, i like really quite low bars.

most people (bmxers and joe public) say my bike is pretty low but then again i find trials bikes a generally lower,if you don't like the bar height put a few spacers under the stem and see how it feels.

what bike are you riding ,perhaps its the geomentry that makes it feel low?

omgz!!! diamondback T-1! my freind had one and it was near impossible to kickhop lol

Geat! So is it worth persevering with this bike or should I sell it on and try something else?? Don't see the point in wasting hours of practice if I'd learn much quicker on another bike. Bear in mind I'm skint though!
