Blommah
So im having a bit of a problem with doing backwheel taps higher than my front wheel. The thing is that when i had my crescent ilions i had no problem doing it, i had more speed then, cuz i had gears. But now on my GU it seems impossible, i have only one gear (22-18) and i cant do it.If i do it rolling i cant get my frontwheel to rise enough becoase of my light gear. And if i roll and just try to pull i cant get my frontwheel anywhere, (Is it extra hard on the high bb or do i just have the wrong technique?)And if i do it from still i cant get the height forward. What are your best tips? It`s good to be back at the forum.Cheers. matt rushton
I wouldn't really call 22-18 a light gear. Also TRA did a great topic on it before. Try searching for that. Greetings
Yep, TRA's guide is great but the best advice in my opinion was posted by Kennard - "just twat it".Works every time...
basher
22-18 is far from light, like matty said tra did that topic which was good and eventually you will get ust to the gearing. Just keep trying and altering your technic if you feel its not working.
Blommah
Well for me 22-18 is very light, used to run 22-16 at first Okey, thanks for the help, just what i was looking for =)
Simpson
Yep, TRA's guide is great but the best advice in my opinion was posted by Kennard - "just twat it".Works every time...But Kennard takes the piss.... if i ever hit a wall that hard I'd just eat shit... well... i do eat shit quite a lot doing taps!! ahahaha i dunno how such a small fella gets away with it!!! lmao
2sixstreet
Theres a few that say its not necessary to tap at this low a height - just straight to back wheel. 22-18 is a nice gear. I've been working on this lately and have discovered that increasing and maintaining speed and pushing the front forward more helps. I rarely actually tap but my backwheel height has improved and is more consistent with this technique.
