Best Way To Learn Tricks?

Jimbo-T-Pro

Hi, Im new to the forum and ive been riding Trials for about 2 years on and off (in between smashing freewheels on my T-Pro<_<) but just for fun, but now im actually looking to improve my trials riding, get some tricks dialled etc. and was wondering, do these "how to trials" DVDs actually teach you anything worthwhile? im thinking of getting the "mastering the art of trials by Ryan Leech" DVD to get some new tricks.

Or should I just try and get me some new friends to ride with around Swansea ^_^ and learn off them? anyone ride anywhere regular in swansea that they wouldnt mind me turning up to see? any help appreciated!

cheers guys!

jesus theres lots of swansea topics coming up at the mo. So glad me and will aren't gna be alone when we get down there :P

Yeah trashzen really does rock, but just find the local riders, or if you can wait a week for us, we'll gladly teach you everything we know :) In terms of improving what you already know, theres never a "quick" way of doing it. Just practice, push your limits and change techniques subtly. You'll find alot of your boundaries are not set by ability, but by fear. Once you overcome being scared and actually have faith in your abilities you'll get higher, and quicker :)

I've heard it said that "tricks and stunts" by Martin Ashton and Martin Haywes is an awesome DVD/video to get. I'm pretty confident it's a teaching one, though i'd like somebody to confirm this so i don't get into trouble hehe....

It is awesome, and it does have teaching bits in. The spoof 70s gangster chase bit is better though. Gilly, you probably should watch my copy in the near future...

p.s. I love the fact that you think you can get into trouble!
