PaRtZ
Helping out a mate, his dad wanted his groupset + brake replacing. Basically I did it and changed everything except for the front end, wheels, bar + stem + saddle. I did front + rear mech, cassette, chain, cranks, bb, front + rear brakes, pedals, levers + shifters. Was good fun, but i felt cheeky asking for a tenner from him. Was even more shocked to see his dad give me £20 and asked if it was enough I know that I was quicker than a bike shop (ie workload; other jobs) but is £20 still too much?My question is how much would your local bike shop charge you for a similar job. Please be realistic but dont worry about being accurate. I feel a bit guilty but it was one of them situations where you sorta cant say no lol

BIG Drew
if it was halfords theyd of probaly charged 30give his money back and just get him to buy you a drink or usmmitYeah looking at £30 quid labor at my Halfords. Very similar at my lbs as far as I am aware. It is probably easier just to keep the money then persuade him to take it back..You may end up in the awkward 'Nah it is all right, you keep it' situation. As long as you have made a good job of it you shouldn't feel guilty at all. Sounds liek you have saved him some time+money.
NVWOCI WVS
the lbs i work at would charge £30-£35ish for that. £20 is a pretty fair price i'd say

DrEvil270183
Id say if a customer came to us asking that, we'd charge about £45/50 depending on if the products were bought from us or not. so bargain price.
