SamHolmes
Not really sure as I've never used vinyl before but...Have a read through this as you may find something useful in thereOr the way like the person said above, get a USB turntable, then you can connect it to a computer and use Audacity, Sound Forge, esc to record it
Simpson
I know my dad used an Lp player which he was able to link up directly to his computer and just record it onto the PC, but it was well long and took a lot of memory on the computer before he compressed them to MP3, but i guess LP's always take a long time as its not like you can burn at +4 speed ill ask him if you want... brb

MadManMike
1. Get a pre-amp for your turntable.2. Download Audacity (free) (Search Google)3. Use a 2 phono to 3.5mm stereo jack and connect the 2 phono's to the pre-amp on Audio Out and connect the 3.5mm stereo jack to the microphone socket on your pc.4. Load Audacity and go to File>Options/Preferences and make sure Audio Input is set to Microphone as opposed the random default setting.5. Hit the big red record button and play your vinyl6. Once the song ends, hit stop on Audacity and then go to File>Export as MP37. Save the song wherever and however you like.8. Start from step 5 again with a new vinyl
