Motorbike Inner Tubes?

I've heard that people on mods use scooter tubes to help fight against pinch flats, so i was looking for a tube for a stock (26") but the biggest motorbike tube is 21".

Would this stretch ok? because you can get them for 3,5" tyre which would mean supertough.

Has Anyone here tried this or know anyone who has?

Cheers

no, poor idea. wouldnt stretch anywhere near far enough and it would be silly heavy. run a wider rim/higher pressure/get smoother if you get pinch flats. i never, ever get them!

I dont think i need a wider rim or tyre, probaly just run higher pressures but was just a thought as mod riders do it.

But I was thinking if you inflate a tyre that big it would be fine to stretch 5 inches and would be alot thicker than the dh tubes you can get

I have heard of riders using 24" tubes in their 26" wheels to shed some weight. I don't think that would be a good idea. The wweight alone is enough to stay away!

Since i have gotten smoother and put a tad more air in, i have not had any problems with pinch flats. I run normal tubes, with a bit of sealant.

What tires are you running, what psi?

Im using a maxxis high roller and a standard inner at the moment because of a pinch, and the whole thing about weight whats with that

Its like ill get a stronger tube and take my zune out of my pocket or even my phone and wallet to just to save weight, hell I might even start wear lycra..................

A few grams will make no difference, do you take a dump before you ride? you can shed 4lbs if you do! haha

I never said i count grams, but i have *heard* of people doing that. Just sharing information, that's all.

Oh, and yes, i do take a dump before i ride:)

I dont know about you, but id rather not ride all plugged up.

Furthermore, how about you just practice your style, get smoother, and you will eliminate pinch flats.

I have ridden Maxxis Holly Rollers (yes, for trials) for the last year. They have a super thin sidewall, and i run a regular buttyl tube. Getting better technique and being smoother is better than buying bombproof components.
