David
I made one for my A2 project. I would really consider wether its worth it, its a very challenging project which requires stupid amounts of time, frustration, MONEY, skills and lots of research. I wouldnt bother for GCSE, make a well made wooden box or something easy like that and you can still get all the marks. The problem with my A2 project was that it was very complex and the examiners didnt understand a lot of what I had done (Remember a food teacher could be marking it )Dave
BONGO
when i did GCSE and A level DT/RM, to do well, you had to do something that needed doing, helped a lot of people, or was new and clever. This is none. You're making a frame, which is a massive task for one. It'll never turn out as good as you want it, it doesn't need doing, it's not going to have anything ingenius or new about it really, and it's not going to benefit the world or be bought buy a lot of people.I'm just saying becasue i've been through the same thing when i designed new pedals..... bad move.So either listen to me and change, or ignore me and hopefully prove me wrong and get an A!Bongowhen i did GCSE and A level DT/RM, to do well, you had to do something that needed doing, helped a lot of people, or was new and clever. AdamR28
ignore me and hopefully prove me wrong and get an A*!Haha, that's what I did...But it would have been a LOT easier to make a CD holder out of some posh wood and make it look nice, that's all that really matters at GCSE... Ashley-Wood
I say take your chances! if it works out well you can have a new frame on your hands and could end up being your best bike! if starts going wrong put some overtime in and make a new project
Captain Scarlet
I think it is quite a task to do, especially at GCSE level.Currently I am making a Playing card case, which I guess is just an elabourate box, but it offers lots of different possibilites and isn't too difficult.Try thinking of the norm but relate it to bikes, for example, you could make a tool rack, or perhaps a box to store bike parts in?
