went out on it today seemed abit poor to be honest, but i've just got home and bedding in the back brake again, seems alot more powerful. when i put the water on it, steam came off. done it twice, just need to extend the lever abit more with something longer, about another 2 inchs i reckon, to have it feeling nice! then hopefully it will be sorted

2 inch :o fak. try bolting a lever blade ontop of the other leverblade or whatever, to make it longer, ask iolo about it, he extended his magura one like that and it was pretty long.

I cant see why you need to have the lever that long really, as them brakes should hold plenty on the bike seeing as the are 203 rotars on a mod. You just need to let them bed in and not be impatient it can take a week for a brake to bed in, adding 2 inch more to the lever is a awful lot, i would set up the brakes again and wait for it all to bed in.

You have a maggy leaver then a alley key bolt...

Your a mugg.... hes running BB7's for starters.... so i highly doubt he is running a Hydraulic lever on a cable brake.... and he wants it another 2 inches as hes got 1 lever running 2 brakes i think Luke knows what hes doing here!

Looks pretty mint though man! looks sooooo bloody sexy!!! let Michael ride it next ride :P hehehehe.... how do people get on using 1 lever when they have a little ride on it?

I said it for the safety of his tail bone, he wont have one anymore if that snaps on a gap.

I have to agree, that lever is going to snap pritty soon i would say. I cant see it lasting. I think you going about things the wrong way to improve the brake, even running off one lever them brakes should be pritty mint. I think you need to perhaps look and see if they are set up perfect and working together. Try seting the pull back abit more on, as im guessing it has abit of that naff feel and that may help alittle and also have a play with pads and cable so the non moving pads is as near as possible to the disk to eliminate sponge and also make sure they are working together.

it didn't work :( the discs just still wernt powerful enough, they did lock, just not enough, if you backwheel a wall, and didn't make it all the way to the top it would just slip down. abit of a waste of hard earned money. i also think it was something to do with the joint, i think that made the brake alot weaker. ohh well im not spending anymore bloody money trying to sort this out. just gonna keep the front avid because its soo powerful lol :D and use 2 levers!

Have you thought about running 2 Gear cables into 1 lever? The gear cables have a smaller fitment on the end so 2 of them might fit into the lever hole? I've been running gear cable in my front brake for years and it hasn't gone wong at all to be fair. Still as good as brake cable, just thinner.

Sorry to hear that dude :(

But then if this didn't work, no other dual disc setup will.

Keep both brakes not just the front one, just run them separately. A rear maggie won't be more powerful than a 203mm BB7. Had a 180mm Mono Trial on my old Monty and it only slipped on me twice. The Avid is more powerful, plus you have a larger rotor.
