James-M
Sometimes I use gloves, but when I take them off it feels much nicer and safer to ride with. Wearing gloves also stops your grips wearing down half as quick. I don't think there are any benefits using them or not really, just a matter of perspective... BenLeacockâ„¢
Depends on the person, what grips they use and what kind of riding they do.The person, if they have rock hard skin then they might not need to wear gloves but may feel comfy wearing a pair. Or they may have really soft skin and not like wearing gloves. Its all personal opinion. The grips, if they are going to use a pair of tarty foam grips ( or any pair of foam grips really ) then the grips are really soft and are not really known for giving blisters and causing pain to the parm of the hands. But on the other hand they may be using a pair of lizard skin Lock-On Shorty then the compound of the grips may cause pain to the hands meaning that gloves are needed. Gloves can also be used as a way of not getting cuts as easily, for example riding on rocks may mean there is sharp rocks that if you didnt have a pair of gloves on MAY cut you, wearing a pair of gloves MIGHT help protect the hands. ( not guarented ) Also riding street there could be glass on top of a wall, side hop on slip grip the top of the wall to stop your self falling and cut your hands with no gloves, gloves may stop you from cutting you skin. At the end of the day its all due to personal opinion, some people like wearing gloves some people don't. I personaly dont like wearing gloves and would prefer to have a nice pair of soft grips ! Hope this helps Ben

Tommy d
So once and for all: (though no doubt I will miss some)Pros of glovesThey help protect your hands from injuryThey help you grip the bars if your grips get sweatyThey keep your hands from going numb in the winterThey might help stop you getting blistersThey make you look like you mean businessCons of glovesYou have to keep paying money to buy new ones when they wear outThey make you heat up moreThey give you hilarious tan linesThey may fail to help stop you getting blistersThey make you look sillyThey get really smellyI'm done
