duggyd
I've heard mixed things about the Phase 1.3. Mostly that the frame is very good, but the rest will not last you long as you improve. How long have you been riding trials? Are you just starting? If so, the 1.3 would be ok, but you will pretty soon find that the brakes are not up to much. The problem is that the Phase 1.3 comes with a disc only fork, so if you wanted to put Maguras on it, you couldn't. And the back V-brake will be pretty poo. But can be upgraded to Maguras witht he Evo II mounts. I was looking at getting a Phase 1.3 for a second bike to play around on. I've come to the conclusion that the Phase 1.2 whilst being more expensive, will last SO much longer. Well, that's what's right for me. In essence, if you can afford a phase 1.2 with the HS33s, then do (£430 here ). In my opinion! Try riding them both and see which feels better.Hope that helpsDug

Gandalf the Yellow
ive ridden the 1.2 Its quite nice great bike for the money too ditto.1.1 and 1.3 is a waste of money.1.3 is terrible, shit disc on front, shit v on back, really pointless gears and shifters. V mounts. horrible colour..grrrrr so angry!!save up and get the 1.2or likewise get the FLEA1. IMO well good beginners bike for £250. single speed. simple dropout (you can even run disc on it )steve

Tomm
oh cool, whats the headset and pedals like?Er, why does it matter what the headset is like? It'll be a cheap bike so the headset will be cheap and pretty rubbish, but it will work. Similarly the pedals aren't exactly the most important thing since they're easily changed anyway. Marky_J
after reading all this my brother is trying to save up a bit more and buy the phase 1.2 instead. thanks guys
mr_malcolm
if you rode one at a M.A.D. show it probably wasn't all standard so the one you rode will probably feel better then for example if you bought the same model of bike
Dan6061
Replace the hub and brakes on the 1.3 and you'll be sorted.
