Mobile Phone Contract

My old o2 contract has almost expired and I'm looking to get a new one.

I've looked around at different companies, such as Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile, and as of yet have found no contracts that suit my needs.

There's no way I'm staying with o2 as everything I experienced with them was negative.

I go camping a lot so a provider that has a good reception would be the best.

Does anyone know of any pay monthly plans where I get the handset for free, there is at least 500 texts/month and the signal is half decent?

Also, I'm not too fussed about the handset, just as long as it sends/receives texts and calls, and providing it isn't too old.

Oh and my budget is £20 max, although if there's a good enough deal I could stretch to £25.

Any help much appreciated.

Very odd dude, ive had an amazing contract with o2. Went to spain, had full signal wherever I went, even in the valleys. Get free gifts all the time - free minutes or txts etc - sure you know all of this but yeah strange. Mine's an online contract (got it from their website) was 18months and I think its almost up? Id be happy with going with them again... although I think I would go to a carphone warehouse and see what they can offer me. But @ £19 a month ive been chuffed with my W810i. Best of luck sorting your contract dude!

I have to say I have had a great experience with 3, converted many of my friends over to their network too. All of them have said they will not go back to anything else.

They offer fantastic deals, better than any other network, great phones, their 3g service is fab and their reception is second to none, there is no where I have been where I have no reception.

Customer support is also very good.

The 3g does not drain the battery its the phones, my phone the Sony K610i has very poor battery life as it is, not network related. Others have far better such as the K810i or whatever it is.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Orange, sweet phone, good package, unlimited txts + 500 minutes for £35 a month, all good.

When o2 ring you and tell you your contract is about to run out and you tell them youre leaving theyll offer you anything they can to get you to stay, my sister was going to leave orange so now has 200 minutes and 1000 txts for £15 a month, or something like that.

Well, how come when I turned my from 3G network back to single network, my battery now lasts 3 days and not less than 1??

Nokia N95 btw.

your right, its due to the phone trying to search for a single the whole time, to get the best 3g connection it can do. but thats not to do with 3, the company, its 3g the technology, which all networks have now. 3 the network, still works on the regular gsm network too, in fact, it used too, and possibly still does, just piggyback 02 for most of its masts. but i know 02 used to be put as higher priority, as they owned the masts, so if you where on 3, and the mast was at full usage, and then someone on o2 wanted the mast, it'd kick you off. not much of an issue, till you want to use your phone at real busy times, new year, terror attacks, etc.
