TOBY-E
Orite people Right Ive had my hope now for just under a year now its been perfect , it hasn't been bled i haven't touched it since i got it.Then today i went out for a ride and it sort of seized up the wheel wont hardly move.Ive tried pushing the pistons out and it worked for about 10 mins then seized up again. i thought i had a lazy piston but i didn't think that could happen with hopes. So any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance Toby(i did try the search but nothing came up that was to any use)
Ticker
You could have a lazy piston or your pistons may not be retracting properly. This happened to my hope, what i did was.. Take your wheel out of the fork.. Take your pads out.. Pump your brake a bit so you can see the calipers.( be carefull not to pump it too much as your calliper could pop out, which will leak all your fluid out and you will need a full re bleed.) . Get a rag and spay a bit of wd-40 on it. Then wipe all inside your brake and on the callipers to get rid of any muck that could be stopping them from retracting.. Then put the brake pads back in and That worked for me.This is what i think is wrong with it, it sounds to me like your brake could do with a good service as from what i can gather it hasn't been well maintained. If it isn't a lazy piston then i can't think what it is.Maybe someone else on the forum knows.Hope this helps. Mat Smith!
The caliper goin to fall off the forks is it? if u pump too hard ticker haha, might want too tighten them bolts, unless u mean the pistons.Good guide though ^.Matx

ThYp
Thats what I did too when I had that problem with my Hopes. I really had to do a LOT of pumping on my lever to get my pads/pistons readjusted again... Worked really fine for me! Nice guide Ticker !Grtzz, ThYp
basher
Take pads out and give the pistons a good greaseing and oiling as they will just be stick. And may be a rebleed aswell but that may be not nesisary

maxwellduryea
If i were you i wouldnt use wd-40, i would try a different lube. Ever heard of tri-flow? works wonders on all moving parts. Teflon loaded! It's great stuff!
