Tomm
You'll still have to get them in Pentax mount (do they use 4/3?). This means two things 1) You won't be able to buy second hand lenses easily (there aren't any), and 2) A lot of shops won't stock Pentax versions of, say, Sigma lenses. Most online places would though I guess.Just one question, do you NEED a dSLR? The problem is that you have to spend a lot on lenses before you get better image quality than a good 'prosumer' like the Canon S4. SLRs are versatile, yes, but in terms of getting the best quality snaps for not much money, they're not ideal.
Davetrials
itll take u best part of 6months to a year to even have a vague idea of what your doing, and there not really practical as say a nikon coolpix, nice small and ud get better pictures with as its just a point and shoot. Dan Clark
He's right, the amount of lenses you see on Ebay which are Pentax or Minolta fit that go cheap as f**k because not many people have Pentax's is depressing.
Fish-Finger-er
Well what do you guys think about Getting Something Like this a lil cheaper? or is it like buying a dabomb, that you might as well save up and get a tpro cos its way better to save for a Nikon D50 or something?yea but its barely cheaper.i got my 350d on the 28th of feb this year,so were talking 6 months ago, i payed £290 for it brand new, and 6 weeks later the bloke was offering the same brand new cameras at £275(bear in mind he was asking 275 them, he was asking 325 for mine) so i reckon march/april you could of got the camera for £260. dont know wether hes trading any longer. but if not someone else will be if you search around. you could quite likely get brand new 350d with kit lens for £250 if you where very lucky/persistant/willing to wait till a bargain came up. and second hand, you could probably get one slightly cheaper still. not saying theres anything wrong with the pentax(ive never used one, so cant comment on it) and the lens which are available, are cheap second hand. but the try before you buy facility of most nice camera shops(walk in with your cam, get them to get a display lens out, you piss around for a few minutes in the shop, if you like it, you tell them you want it, and usually by the display lens(as you know you got a sharp copy), and theyll stick another in the window) is lost, as is the hundreds of people on here who could help or hinder you as they have the same camera

Fish-Finger-er
well i got mine from a bloke on www.photography-on-the.net forum, username "stuv", dont know if hes trading still, as last time i spoke to him he was having a big sell up due to illness. but yea he advertised mine at £325ono(brand new full canon warranty etc) i got it for £290, but saw him offering one for sale mid april for £275, so £250 may of got you it, but £265 might well of done
