eskimo
Most Maxxis tyres will be a good choice.
Greetings
Out of the ones I've used on the rear, from best to worst.1. IRC El Gato - super light and pinch resistant, good grip and bounce, best tyre ever if you're a fairly smooth rider2. Try-All sticky - super heavy, not much pinch resistance, immense grip and good bounce3. Maxxis Hansventure - as above, just lighter and less grip and bounce4. Maxxis Minion DH - hated it, don't know why5. Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.4" - superlight and good bounce, grip isn't impressive. Absolutely no pinch resistance. Only used a 2.1" Nobby Nic on the front and it's not bad as long as you run a high pressure (snakebites are common )
ben_travis
try-alls have some of THE WORST 'BOUNCE' ever, they are the most dead feeling tyre ever....mmaxxis for the win, im tryin a hansventure just now. so will let u know

Bionic Balls
actually when mine was brand new the resistance was pretty good....the sidewalls wear proper quick though and then it's all flimsy and meh!saying that...the sidewall on my high roller is shagged! Tomm
Anything Maxxis, as long as it's dual ply on the back and single on the front.Interestingly in the world of downhill, Maxxis are the poor man's Michelin. If you look, the minions are basically a rip off of the Comp 24, highrollers = comp 16, swamp things = comp 32 (sort of). I might have got mixed up there. No-one seems to use Michelin for trials though (apart from that God-awful Hot S).Inur - I don't know how you can rate IRC El Gatos. When I used to run them (years ago) I would pinch on every other ride or so. The sidewalls are like paper!

Bionic Balls
michelin comp 32 used to be all the rave....but it were proper heavy and hard...edit- im on the 60a (hard) compound....them soft ones don't last for sht! hard seems fine too... fyfey
I literally just finished putting on my new Maxxis Minion Dual-Ply 2.5 Slow Reezay 40a. I was running the Super-tacky Highroller which was also good. The minion has slightly beefier tread (but highroller rolls faster on streety stuff). What am I doing on here? Quick... lets ride!!! Greetings
Probably depends what inner tube you use and how you ride. The ElGato wasn't perfect in terms of pinch resistance, but I only had 3 or 4 flats in 8 months and I run a really low pressure. On the other hand, I pinched the Try-All (which is 600g heavier) running a higher pressure than usual, on the first ride. Might just have had a lot of luck / bad luck with the Try-All. I have to have it pumped up hard or it rims out on front wheel stalls, and then it's got no grip. The softer ones would probs be much better for that though. I just can't afford new tyres very often! And yes, Michelin Hot S was rubbish while I had it! It was light, but no grip and no sidewalls. Next time I'll be going for a 60a dual ply front, just have to grow some muscles before then...
Daffy04
I ride a mod but i used to ride street/jump and i was always considering getting holy rollers....Are they any good for trials??
