i had a look at carles diaz and benito ros's grinds in france, and they were f**kING STUPID!!!!!!!!!!! ive never seen a grind like it, it was so deep, and i cant possily think how u do it :S

heres an idea how how deep it was, i got a plastic knife and ran it across the rim, and it made a braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab noise if u can make sense of that, hold sonthing between ur spokes while ur wheel is spinning, a noise like that but on a smaller scale.

So you say the stone Cutting disc is the way to go. Aren't the cutting disc a lot thinner than the grinding discs? I was at the store looking at them and it seems like the cutting disc would shatter with any pressure because it is only like 2mm thick and the grinding is like 4 or 5mm thick.

They won't shatter lol, they wouldn't be able to sell them if they did ;)

did you not see fatmike demonstrating his grinding technique on his wheel?! :o Turns the grinder on and bashes (like a hammer) the rim!!!! Proper violent grind

Then the disc shattered i think. lol lol lol lol

rock pads need a 30/50 degree angle when it comes to a grind ....no need to press mega hard medium grind is fine......i have used stone discs and metal cuting discs ....im using a 2.5mm cutting disc and it gives me a beastly grind......always remember u need to brush the rim fast........

and benito and carlse both use stone cutting discs 4mm wide 70 degree angle :)

I personally do not take much notice of what angle I hold my grinder at but at a guess 45 degrees or so. Seems to work fine with Koxx Browns and Plaz CRMs, absolutly rinsed my Echo 06 pads but the second set when the grind was dead were beautiful. Back to normal grind and plaz pads now though.

Well I went and bought a masonry cutting disc and gridded my rim. WOW........., my previous grind was a year old and the groves were still deep but there wasn't much bite left and the hold was going too. Re-ground with this disc and it turned out very well. I highly recommend the masonry cutting disc.
