BIG Drew
I live with both my parents, my dad works full time and my mum works 2 days a week, am i entitled to Education Maintenance Allowance? If you parents total wage comes to under 30k is mark I think (Don't quote me on this you will have to check it) then yes you get a tenner a week. If under 20k (again check it) a year 20 a month and there is one for 30 quid a month. You will have to check the values though as I can't remember exactly. I know the 30k one isn't far off.. Dr Dig
Ask at you're school or collage. They'll have a form and then fill it out, you'll need like tax/wage type things from you're folks to prove their income and then you sign a learning agreement then its all sorted. I'm getting £30 a week. Only good thing about being poor at home lol.

StuartD
I got bulled out of that last year, my dad told them I had a part time job, and then they didnt bother filling it in. It was only afterwards I realised it only depends on your parents income, has nothing to do with you working or not!

Muel
I will be able to cheat slightly soon.My Mum is leaving, and she earns less than £30k a year. My Dad will be earning more due to huge amounts of overtime to pay off the mortgage.I will be living at both houses all the time, but, if I register at my Mum's I will be entitled to it, even though I think I will be staying at my Dad's more of the time, because all my school/college/bike stuff is here.I might change and stay at my Mum's more, but I'm still entitled to it aren't I? Has anyone seen my shoe?
Gavyn, you can claim however much your mums earnings entitle you to.It the total of the home owners earnings.
Muel
Well my Mum is only going to be living a few minutes walk away, so I really will be living at both houses at once.

BIG Drew
Seriously, why bother for £10 a week.As someone has said cause you can. Also I am guessing you are older and at 16 I Imagen I value 10 quid alot higher than what you would. I have to work 2.3 hours to earn 10 quid ( I get 4.33 a hour at Halfords) so I am not going to miss out on getting it for free...It is well worth the effort of filling out a couple of forms. Captain Scarlet
I was wondering do you have to be in College to earn Ema?Because it says you can apply for it at 16, which I am in October and I still have about 9 months at High school.Or is it just College?Well my school has changed their title since getting a specialist subject status in Humanities, so now it is no longer called a high school, but a college.
