Hendrix
Right,I have one of these dodgy Sema, or something Tubes in my rim. The reason being, where the valve goes through isn't thick enough for a standard tube valve. Can I make the whole bigger without making the wheel unstable ?If so, what can I use to make it bigger ?Cheers,Hendrix

Tommy d
Don't worry about it mr Hendrix just use a drill. I did mine a couple of years ago cos it came with a little hole for silly valves, it's been fine ever since. And think about how loads of rims have big holes drilled in anyway... I was just concerned if I drilled it out, and rim wasn't made for it, it might weaken it.Again, Cheers!
robb_o
I used a thin round metal file when i did mine.It only need a few mm difference.
Richard jersey
I'm fairly sure you can just drill it and make the hole bigger. It shouldn't affect the rim too much either.
monkeymoped
why don't you use a presta valve tube like all the xc boys use because they are generally a hell of alot lighter than most tubes and the valve its self is tiny

Krisboats
8mm drill bit will do the job nicely. Just wiggle it round a bit and sit proud as your valve slides in and out efforlessly.
monkeymoped
but most pumps these days come with the fittings for both even if you have to turn the rubber insert upside down to fit the presta, even pumps from aldi come with this option
