Hope Pro Ii's

How can you be sure?

They're very common

The only thing I still dont get is if there is 2 types of hub - one with a single speed kit on instead of a cassette and the other made specifically only to run 1 gear and cannot run a cassette on?

Help?!

There is two types of hope pro 2 rear hubs. On is the standard hope pro 2 rear hub, basically a newer version of the old XC/bulb hubs, the other hub is the trials/singlespeed one. It is called the hope pro 2T and features hub bolts rather than QR (though a conversion kit is available), 2 more offset pawls in the freehub meaning more engagements and the hub is made with a smaller freehub body, meaning the wheel is dishless and stronger.

Basically, get the trials/singlespeed version.

Yep, there are the two versions.

The ProII, which has 4 pawls that engage simaltaniously, in a 24 tooth ratchet, giving it 24 engagements, this version has an IS 6 bolt disc mount, and a full length 9 speed freehub body, it comes standard with a QR axle, but 10mm bolts is optional.

Then there's the ProIIT/ProII singlespeed, this version has 2 sets of 2 pawls, that are offset so as to engage at differnet times into the 24t ratchet, giving 48 engagements, it has a wider body (still with IS 6 bolt disc mounts) giving a dishless wheel, and as a result it has a shortened freehub body only wide enough to take 6 sprockets off a standard cassette. It comes with a spacer kit to fit a single speed sprocket too. This version comes standard with a 10mm bolted axle, but a QR is an option.

Basicaly, if you can put up with running 6 or less gears, you get 24 more engagements, and a dishless wheel (Y).
