domonza
Ello, i have some rock pad blues and was just wondering if anyone knows if they work well on a smooth rim, as i think there supposed to be used on a grind.
BenLeacock™
All pads will work on a smooth rim, just not sure how well they will work ? Tarty recommend : Sharp light grind for dry weather, sharp slightly deeper grind for wet weather. So im thinking that it should be ok if its for a sharp light grind ? Maybe wrong though
sex_on_wheels
they are designed to be used with a grind.....so they will not work very well on smooth rims obviously.

Muel
My mate had them on a smooth painted rim. locked really well and the bite was good too. better than mine on a worn grind by a long way.If they are shite, tar it up then order some smooth specific pads, then use petrol to get the tar off. Or leave it on.If you have them anyway, surely you would just try it.
T.McMillan
why dont you just try it and then tell us guys how it is
Mike W
I used em on the back without a grind for a few hours when i first got king wheel built, i think the few hours bit gives away how bad the where mikey
Richard jersey
Try them out on a smooth rim and then give the rim a grind if they don't work. They should work on a smooth rim with a bit of tar but not sure.
tom jersey
Grind the Rim and they will work class!
mods
They would probably work ok on a smooth rim, but as soon as you got dust on there or any muck they would be crap. Just grind your rim, takes about 10mins.
AdamR28
They would probably work ok on a smooth rim, but as soon as you got dust on there or any muck they would be crap.Just like any other good pad We have some on a bike here with a smooth rim and they work great. andits
Not too sure really i would say that they should be ok but better on a rim with a grind.
Phil H
My mate uses them on a smooth without tar on the back and on occasions have worked great but aren't amazing, definetly not as effective as on a grind but I understand grinds can be alot of hassle sometimes. Use tar and you should be fine, I can't imagine them being much different to using kool stops on a smooth rim with tar. This is only temporary until you find a way of getting a grind but should do the jobPhil
