mods
Very informative. If you knew nothing about the sport i think it's be helpful. But basically no-one rides 'old school' mods so not really worth putting about that. Sports should move on..
Heatsink
The advent of the Internet has given rise to many self-proclaimed experts on the sport, despite the fact that the sport is older than they are. The Internet trials websites are littered with these "experts" giving out false and biased advice, despite the fact that oftentimes they literally don't know what they are talking about. Caution should be observed when attempting to glean advice about trials online. It would be far better to go to a bicycle trials event, when possible, to gain knowledge about the sport from people who actually ride. Strong opinions!Discuss! python_man
Strong opinions!Discuss!yea but you could say in response to that that not all riders know where it started, who started and whenor am i talkin rubbish???
Krisboats
Strong opinions!Discuss!Ha ha, indeed... that most certainly is a bad thing to have written in there. I'd have thought that its more a reflection on a particular type of person which should be narrowed down to a few individuals rather than the majority like it makes out. Its kind of unclear as to where these "experts" are giving information... by the way it says go to an event in order to "gain knowledge... from people who actually ride" makes it sound like these experts are on a website like amazon or something.Ah well, if someone wants advise and theres a few different opinions its down to the individual as to whether they use the advice or not.I find it quite ironic that this "expert" is giving out poor advise exactly like he says to look out for. Come to somewhere like here and problems usually get solved quite easily Edited August 15, 2007 by Krisboats

Mark W
He has a good point though. I mean, why would you waste your time going online and getting an instant answer to a question or query when you could wait 3-4 weeks or so 'til the next comp is on near you, then pay to ride there, get your forms sorted, drive for several hours there, maybe find someone who can help you, then drive several hours back? It makes perfect sense.

Dan Clark
Surely the opinions of online "experts" that may or may not know about the subject at hand is what wikipedia is based on
