Smallville
If you would like to go dual disc on a BT Raven 7.0 with a Zoo pitbull fork and you want to use 180mm rotors, do you have to use the Hope +20 adapter for the calipers or is there calipers that would fit right on. I would prefer not to use any adaptors if thats possible, and is there any diffrens between front and rear except that the levers are vice versa. Oskar
you need a +20mm adaptor on the rear, couse the BT has a internatinel standard mount. the rear 160mm caliper is the same as a front 180mm caliper.

Call me an idiot but I think this is weired and annoying!

If you buy a brake with 200mm rotor on tarty you get it with +20mm or +40mm adaptor to use on the front 180mm/rear 160mm caliper Edited August 11, 2007 by Oskar

I think that an adaptor just weakens the break. I guess a 160mm rotor will be to small as a rear brake. spode@thinkbikes
The lack of built in +20/+40 on the rear disc was one of the deciding factors for me not getting one. I use the Simtra ST-1 now, which has +40mm as standard, so I have a 200mm disc on the back with no adapters. I've never liked the idea of adapters. Plus, tartybikes have them on special offer for £299.99 now
Smallville
So if I use a front 160mm caliper at the rear I will need a 140mm disc? If thats correct I rather use a +40 adaptor then a +20 one to use a 180mm disc on the rear. If you look at tartys the +40 adaptor moves the caliper on a diffrent/nicer way than the +20 one does. The +20 seams to move the caliper so far from the discmount on the frame while the +40 moves it more "up" rather than "out".
Oskar
yeah sure get a 160mm front caliper and enjoy snapping the 40+ mount...

Take a look at it, I think it will be stronger since you move the caliper up rather than out from the discmount.http://82.110.105.16/tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=23 Edited August 13, 2007 by Smallville
Oskar
I bet you will snap it on the rear, and dont get how you can think its stronger than the +20mm, and on the rear you get braking forces in both directions also.Wait on the new evo simtra they look awesome and you will get a +40mm mount...
