531joshua
This may seem like a bit of a pointless topic... but see what you think.I've been having this phase lately where I havn't been going to bed untill stupidly late, or early in theory, times. I just go on my laptop, don't even feel tired. Only bad thing is I lie in extremely late the next day. Seems extremely pointless me saying this, but what I'm looking for is any advice on how I can go back to normal sleeping times?Feels great at night, but in the morning, I've wasted my day away. Any help much appreciated! Also, if you're like me and stay up late ish, if you've got something you want to add, maybe why/what etc, please add.Thanks. Fixed Pants™
JT the king told me to stay up all night for 1 night and the next day you'll be mega tired by about 11, and that will help you get back into a good routine, it worked kinda for me, it used to be 5-2/3 but now i rarely go to bed later than 3, only for a special reason i stay up later than that. Was only a week ago though, so it hasn't had time to propperly work, i think. 531joshua
Yeah, an idea of mine was to maybe sleep all the way around the clock, till I'm back to normal.Oh, and you were saying you only stay up later than 3 for special reasons... you're not into porn are you? haha. A favourite of mine, I'm bloody addicted to it.Cheers for reply anyway.

JT!
Like patfants said, say up all night, wank yourself silly if you must. The next day will be ok till you get to around 2ish, then you have to force yourself to stay awake untill 10-11. Best thing to do is keep active, don't just sit and watch tv, go for a walk or something. Then when it comes to 11/12 ish, you'll be fooked, and sleep stright away, becuase you goto bed early you'll be up early, and becuase your up early you'll be tired earlier. And there you go. This method is good, becuase you don't have to force yourself out of bed, which is torture for me.

Greetings
I have exactly the same problem every summer, go to bed at 4-5am and wake up at 1pm.The trick is to wake up at say 9am and fill your day up with activities, stay well away from the computer. Take a cold bath before going to sleep (i find it helps a lot) and set the alarm to the same hour you woke up that day.
Tomm
If you've got a reason you NEED to be up for something, I find that's good. Like I will stay up until 3-4am when I'm not at work or whatever, but when I need to go back, I go to bed a bit earlier (1am maybe) but I'll HAVE to be up at 7:30, so you just do. Meh, I can just sleep whenever - it's a real skill.
Gavyn.
Staying up all night doesn't really work because you might be so tired that you'll sleep from 11-1pm try getting up around 6 one day and you should sort it out.
SamHolmes
Just go to bed early?Watch Tv for abit, if that doesnt put you to sleep just turn all the lights off and just lay there or listen to music for abitSince the Summer started and there was no reason to get up early I started to stay up 'till like 2-3am for no reasonI then started to wake up at 12ish so i've started setting my alarm for 9am every morning now instead and I normally go to bed about 11/12ishHate waking up past mid-day, not sure why
Tommy d
My method for solving this was the Midnight Challenge. If you decide that on any particular evening you are going for the Midnight Challenge, you must not fail it. You must go to bed and have the light off by 0000 hours. If you fail the Midnight Challenge when you have set it for yourself, you just generally lose at life. You can create yourself a punishment if that helps...Also, set an alarm for about 9 the next day. Put it somewhere where you can't reach it whilst remaining in bed. 8 hours is generally plenty of sleep unless you're special (don't kid yourself, lazy does not equal special). But if you're stuck at a 4am type bed time something more extreme may be required such as the stay up all night trick. It's good but you do have to keep active once the afternoon arrives or you'll fall asleep at 3pm and then you really will be screwed!A less extreme version is to go and have a short nap somewhere (without actually going to bed) about 7am and wake up again at 8 or 9. I go to bed most nights about 3am, get out of bed 11ish.But Saturdays I work at 8, get up at 7, but it doesn't affect me, after I've got over the first ten minutes of waking up, where I'm alway half asleep, I'm fine. Has anyone seen my shoe?
When you want to sort out your sleeping pattern, skip one night of sleep and then stay awake til about 9-10pm.Or another thing to do is to set your alarm clock for 7 no matter what time you went to sleep and wake up then. Dont go back to sleep till 9-10 pm and you'll be fine. Both ways work for me.

Gavyn.
the other option is to do it gradually set your alarm half an hour earlier each day and go to be half an hour earlier at night then you won't feel like shit in the mornings

tomturd
I used to think I had insomnia, for about 5 years. Couldn't sleep until 5/6am and woke up around 2/3pm. Now I have a 9-5ish job, turned out I was just lazy all along. Get up early, even if you feel tired - you'll feel awake after a shower. After a week or so of doing it your sleep pattern should be sorted and you'll be nackered by 12ish. If you mess up a day though (eg get up late or stay up too late) it can really throw stuff out of line.
