Thinners won't take your "paint workl" off, unless its spray or brush paintes, any factoyr finishes ill be fine, apart from laquer.Thinners is less potent than white spirit in my experience.If you have powder coated paintwork then you will be fine, I cleaned my entire frame with thinners on my Scott, it gets every little bit of crap out of the surface of the paint.
