Video Editing Software

i have a long video on my nokia phone that i have got on to the computer on quicktime. i want a way to cut the video down and add effects to it. what is the best, virus-free, free software that you can get of the internet to do so.

Unless you're not running Windows XP, you can't use it.

i have that but it doesnt let me use my clips they an only be used on the nokia thing and quicktime player

What format are the clips? If they are like .mp4 or something, to edit them in movie maker, you'll need some sort of video converter, which changes the format of the clips.

Never used one, so havn't got a clue how they work, but I guess just google it and see what you find.
