Tomm
Ok so my first post didnt add anything so, one thing i think you should do is obviosuly find out the drug being used, side effects etc, and do ask about what could go wrongThat's what they're trying to find out...The reason it's so much money is that it's a risk to your life/ mind/ penis. Obviously it's a very small risk, but if there was no risk they wouldn't pay so much! Nick, have a looksie HERE about the different phases. Greetings
In its first human clinical trials, in March 2006, it caused catastrophic systemic failure in the subjects, despite being administered at a supposed sub-clinical dose of 0.1 mg per kg, some 500 times lower than the dose found safe in animals,[3] resulting in the hospitalization of six volunteers on 13 March 2006. At least four of these suffered multiple organ dysfunction, and one trial volunteer is said to be showing signs of developing cancer. The developing company, TeGenero Immuno Therapeutics, entered into insolvency proceedings later in 2006. Tentative opinions from an as-yet uncompleted inquiry suggest that the problems arose due to "unforeseen biological action in humans", rather than breach of trial protocols, and the case therefore has had important ramifications for future trials of potentially powerful clinical agents.edit: in case you're interested, the people who entered this trial got 2,000 pounds Edited August 8, 2007 by Inur

F-Stop Junkie
I friend of mine did some clinical trials, had to give blood samples every hour, and after two days he was lacking sleep and they were having a lot of trouble finding a vein. Wasn't pleasant, but made him a few quid.I saw a programme about the people involved in the medical trial which f**ked up massively. One person had fingers and toes which were black, numb and essentially frost bitten. He tapped them on the bed frame and they were solid, like wood or metal. At least one also had his immune system wiped out. It wasn't a question of if an infection would kill him, but when. It's easy to say 'Oh, we've done hundreds before, it's safe, it's low doses....' but if you happen to get the one that fails you could pay a much bigger price than a few hundred quid. Janson
id rather do a few days labouring at a building site, seriosly get another job if u need some money, stop trying to find an easy way out. You've obviously never done a medical trial. It blew my mind how easy it was. I thought I had to suffer quite a bit for the 800 quid. Maybe I was lucky with my study, it was pretty much harmless and nobody in the group had any problems.Thing is, they pay lots of money because nobody does it. If they had more people willing than needed they'd be able to give you less, but they really value every person so they give them lots of money. The pharmaceutical companies have loads of money, and human research is so very important.
