Joel
I first used a 10 foot Ethernet cable I had to link up my xbox360 to live but its way too annoying to trip up with or to keep up in one place. the question is;Is there a way / program (for osx preferably) to link up my xbox360 to my macbook to use my mac's wireless? stav
yeah there is a very easy way, buy a wireless access point/extender and plug the 360 into that. got mine pluged into my wireless print server (will work in same way) works fine. should be able to pick up a cheap one on ebay, got mine for £20Stav Edited August 8, 2007 by stav
Nick Garland
All I will say is, the 360 adaptor may seem very pricey, however it works so well, you plug it in and leave it, nicely tucked away on the back of your 360. If you use a base station like my mate did you have to configure it and stuff which is just a pain, then you move your xbox to your mates, need to take it with you to get live. The 360 adaptor may cost a bit but its well worth it. As with most console accesories and peripherals, official parts are made for a reason, they are the best.Dive into your wallet you will not regret it. Charlie Jennings
If your are using a wireless connection to supply your Mac do this:Apple menu > System Pref's > Sharing > Internet Tab > Enable sharing from Airport to the Ethernet port. Then plug the cable in your mac's ethernet. And in your Xbox's ethernet. and Connect to xbox live
Tomm
What cjskate said is probably feasible, but I've never tried it. You'd be creating what's called an 'Ad Hoc' network between your two Macs. However, I think it's designed to work the other way - I.e. sharing one ethernet connection to the internet with another computer over the wireless. If you get me? Nick Garland
By doing the above you have to have your laptop net to your, or your computer, which is just a hassle, also I found that it made my NAS settings Strict instead of open and I could not join many games easy. But before I spend <£10 at maplins, I am sure it would work with other hardware but will it work for the 360? Will it need a driver? I am guessing it could work as it's not pluged in via USB. Has anyone tried it?

ManxTrialSpaz
I use the standarad ethernet cable with my x360/laptop connection. No special crossover cable required...

Haz
No drivers for the xbox, you should be able to use a manual IP set up on the 360, and set up your Mac how cjskate described.
Tomm
Most network adapters in laptops/PCs can auto-sense uplink - I.e. they can recognise that it's a direct connection between two PCs (rather than a router --> PC). The Macbook is certainly this advanced, the Xbox probably is too. The result of this is that you don't need a crossover cable, any old one will do. Plus. you could always make one if needed. (whispers: if you haven't noticed that is a link, click it at will.)
