Bodge Needed..

Basically I was trying to re position my chain tensioner today, whilst doing it I was being attacked by a tiger mosquito that bit the s*it out of my leg/arm & face, so in my haste I tried to finish the job quickly & run away with bike & tools in hand. In doing so, I over tightened the bolt on the chain tensioner & sheared the lug that holds it in place as I was hardly concentrating.

So, I live in Italy, the local bike shop sells bikes with baskets - replacement parts aren't that easy to come by, so anyone have a good bodge while I wait for a replacement from the uk? As the head has sheared off the lug, the bolt slips through the body of the tensioner & the tensioner falls off.

Cheers boys & girls,

Derv

I was thinking that, but I don't have a drill..lol

I managed to get some bigger washers than I had from the local basket waving bike shop - nice guy there though gave me then for free, even though he didn't know what the hell on earth I was asking for - I think he thought I was a space alien there to rob him.

It seems to have worked, although I'm a bit sceptical about it shearing under the starain of gapping etc. We'll see.

Cheers guys n' gals.
