What kinda price range you looking at? Instead of the D in 'D50' for example they start with F (for film im guessing).

You could get an F80 for about £100 with a lense or two second hand or F60/F55 for around £60. Then theres the F100 for around £200 probably and then things like the F6 which are the really expensive range.

All of these use the Nikon F Mount so i'm pretty sure the lenses on these can be used on your D50 and vice versa although you may lose autofocus cababilities (am i the only one who never touches it?). I'm looking at getting the F80 asap for my film course next year, can't wait to shoot film again and have regular access to a darkroom :)

Edit: Just remembered that if you see them with an N instead of an F (N80 for eg) then thats just becuase the american models use an N instead of an F so the N80 will be the same as the F80 jus from america.

Haha, nah BMX is one of my main types of photography lol. But for some reason i just got out of the habit of using it and have VERY rarely touched it since. Maybe it's a bad habit i guess but when i do whack autofocus on i find i don't get as good results (using a D50) i prefer to zoom in as far as i can, focus manually then zoom out again to whereever. Next time i'm out i'll try a some autofocus just for you ;)

But you should have compatible auto focus anyway i think, the only time you wouldn't would be with old lenses that come with the film cam if you're using them on the D50 i think. But someone correct me if i'm wrong? Because i wan't verification on all the lense compatibility too.

i was looking at the ones u said rad, guy(what the hells your name?)

is there anything i shud look out for with film cameras, as ive got no idea about them at all, i dont even no how to fit a film lol :S

My names Max :) Need to change that username at some point haha. Pretty much the same thing's a digital, flash sync speed if your shooting extreme sports and then just the other general features. From what people tell me it seems to be just get the best Nikon (seeing as your DSLR's Nikon) that fits your budget and you can't go too wrong (although they start getting real good around F75/F80 kinda stage and most people i've talked to with lover models wish they'd saved the extra £40 or whatever.

Just make sure you get a user manual with it, and read it ;)

Snappel how come you'd say to people get the F80 rather then the F75?

The most recent F80 is better than the F75 isn't it?

Dave, at a rough guess I'd expect to pay about £100 for that lot on eBay. Probably why no one has bought it yet. Don't know though. Do a search on completed listings and see what they tend to go for.

The F80 is better. BTW, that's the website to find out about cameras.

Ahh yer, was aware it was a model up but wasn't sure how much the differences where.

Be careful, that doesn't always work. Some lenses - called parfocal lenses - will keep the focus through the zoom range, but others will lose focus.

Ahh ok, cheers for that. Seems to work with my nikon kit lense though. I really should get into the habit of autofocus i guess, i'll try it next time i'm out. :) Manual focus just feels so much funner aswell haha.
