Yes you can. Most laptops come with an s-video out port, which can go directly into a TV.

PS no text talk. Its also possible to go back into new members... it has been done before.

Not sure if it works on an ordinary windows laptop but thats the sort of thing ill read into it.

 Wicked reply, comepletely irrelevant.

Toms covered the s-video aspect... but some laptops also have a standard vga socket for connecting to a standard tv monitor. With newer flatscreen "HD" televisions some have vga sockets which you could directly connect the laptop to and if you were to buy a vga to dvi connector you could fit a dvi-hdmi cable and connect it to one of the tv's hdmi slots.

If you can, go with the vga over the s-video as the picture from an s-video cable will be blurry and pixelated.

OK sorry i completely missed the point, I'm running duel screen myself on my laptop so i understand it, i get it now that you are looking to display whatever is on your screen on a second screen i think every laptop can do this because there made for presentations (the slot to insert secondary screen). I just made a complete tits up of skim reading and thinking about the apple TV thing i saw advertised.

Sorry, but it is rather nice
