macy`d
need some views on what to do with brakes. basically I'm getting more and more fed up with things braking on my magura rim brake (rear) and am really tempted to get a rear disk brake but i side hop on my left and silly things like that witch put me off getting one because i don't want to snap my disk or something. Or get another magura and i have considered echo rim brake but there allot of £££. give me your views on what you think i should do. cheers
ilikeriding
get a new maggie, my 06 lasted 1 and a half years, nothings gone wrong Edited August 4, 2007 by afroman
Greetings
Rode the Echo brake, nothing special really. The only difference is that despite being bled with oil, it feels really responsive. So it'd probably be amazing on a water bleed.Snapped 2 Magura 05/06 brake lever bodies, wouldn't recommend them. The pre '05 are really nice and seem to last. JT!
What exactly are you braking on your magura?I've had mine for 3 years and it's fine, only re-bled it once from oil to water.I'd buy a new maggie.

Captain Scarlet
On a 160mm rotor, if when you sidehop your front wheel lands on the wall and the rear slips off, it is near impossible to hit the rear rotor.Obviously as you ride stock then you will want the rotor much bigger, but I think you might be able to get away with it on a 180mm rotor.
