shaggy
Hello, i have a hauppauge tv tuner for my pc. But i can only ever get about 4 channels, none of them of any intrest either. Just wondering if anyone else has a tv card and has problems picking up channels. It's fine if i plug it into the roof anntena, but i cant do that all the time. So i have to use a crapy internal one, would getting a better internal one be better? Or would it just be a waste of money.
MadManMike
Internal aeriels suck mate, the only way you'll get a decent signal is with an external aeriels - unless you're lucky enough to live near some decent signals!
Tomm
I'm surprised you can get anything at all with the portable aerial. I can't get anything on mine with that, but it's plugged into the main aerial so it's all good. Same with my freeview box, too. You've just got to use a decent aerial. I don't know how well those powered ones work though.
shaggy
got a better aerial, can pick up a few more channels but still cant get bbc1, 2, itv, channel 4 or 5. Mains aerial isn't an option for me (, i'll just have to make do with what i've got at the mo.

You can buy powered have aerials which are supposedly better but I don't know if they're good enough. Alternatively, you could just get/make a better (bigger) aerial. shaggy
running an extension isn't an option. We have a hard wood floor and it would mean running it around doors along skirting and up stairs, and i really cant be bothred. it'll do for now can get e4, film4, itv2. might just get the aerial spilt on the roof and run down in to the room. Tomm
Yeah, that's a pretty good way of doing it. Or run the cable out through a window and up the wall or something?
Haz
Sorry to go off topic but I'm looking for a Digital TV card, prefereably for around 50 quid, just a normal PCI one, but I don't have a clue what's good. It'd also be great if it had dual tuners, as I'd record a lot of stuff.
