Revolver
After reading the echo 06 rim topic, and seeing the pictures i'm a bit skeptical of echo rims. What rims do people recommend? because it's my intention to get some proper trials wheels built. So far i've looked at echo 07's, and try-alls.I'm looking mostly at strength, obviously, because the stronger, the less need to replace! But i'd also like to make my bike look nice. If i were to buy try-alls, it would be a red one on the front, and mirror on the back, of a t-rex =)and echo 07's, red and gold.Anyway, try-alls or echo 07's? or even another brand? Thanks
nek0
Echo 07's were re-designed and are very strong. Try-All's are light but the metal is softer so you'll be grinding often (if you do). Echo is heavier but if you're looking for strength I'd go with Echo.
ilikeriding
echo 07's are really strongthe try alls arentthe try alls aren't really red, niether are the echo 07's, theyre pretty much pink in real life
Ash-Kennard
i wish people would stop puting koxx rims down, they are actually really good and light. even if echo 07's are better, koxx rims are still excellent rims
Bearded Midget
i have a rear try-all rim, it weighs nothing, and people will probably say "they dent like cheese", but this is not the case, i run really soft pressures and i rim it on nearly everything i do and i dont yet have a single dent or flat spot. Muel
Try-all rims are pretty strong, but grinds don't last that long. Echo 07 ***.

powerz
I use a echo 07 rear rim and it is very strong and holds grinds well. If your looking for a good solid rim that will last id go for the echo 07.P.SAny reviews on the BT rims?

steve@banbury-trials
i've had a try-all on the front and rear of my bike ,i wouldnt reccomend the front on as the buckle and dent so easly the rear on the other hand is nice and light and was fairly strong untill i grinded it 6 time in about four months ,they hold grinds pretty crap so they need redoing often.have you looked at the revel rims on tarty?rear = http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2236front = http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2235these look fairly good,im going to get a rear rim in the near future steve
Ash-Kennard
I bet you aren't 16 stone and relatively unsmoothim 10.3 so not heavy, and yeah, reasonably smooth, but no rim can withstand a fatty trying to be harsh.i've had a try-all on the front and rear of my bike ,i wouldnt reccomend the front on as the buckle and dent so easly the rear on the other hand is nice and light and was fairly strong untill i grinded it 6 time in about four months ,they hold grinds pretty crap so they need redoing often.have you looked at the revel rims on tarty?rear = http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2236front = http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=2235these look fairly good,im going to get a rear rim in the near future steverevell rims are koxx rims with eyelets and hexagonal holes. or a V!Z rim
Andeee
Personally id go with try-all as mine have taken a good bashing and still in one piece. If you go for try-all ash kennard will love you more . Echo rims are poo!Try-all rims ***!!
Janson
And the whole "tryall rims need to be ground every other ride" is bollocks too. Get some pads "designed" around tryall rims and you'll be fine.My rim needs grinding 2-3 times a year with Coust pads... And the only way I can tell the grind is getting worse is the wet weather performance, they're still mint in the dry.

Nick Garland
There is no doubt about it, Echo 07 rims are the strongest out of the wide rim choice, front and rear. I you want rims that wont die if you screw up a few times here and there, get the Echos. However if you are a smoother rider and generally dont screw up or try new big things, you should be alright with a koxx on the rear, on the front they suck, dented in about 2 hours on a tap. Great for competitions though.
