Krisboats
Basically the same thing that Tiscali, AOL, SKY and Wanadoo have, only they call it different things... like a Fair Usage Policy.Tiscali see's it as anyone who downloads (cumulative web browsing, file-downloading, game playing etc) over 50mb of stuff between 6.00pm and 11.00pm on weeknights and 12.00-4.00pm at weekends. Tomm
Pfftt, downloads are for overnight and during the daytime. In the evening I'm much less likely to be downloading something. So I imagine it won't affect me too much. But I'm kinda stuck with NTL sorry, Virgin Media since I don't want to pay for a BT landline.I can't get used to calling it Virgin Media. Probably because I never get anything through the post from them because they don't have my address
Mike Deere
Why would I want to change? That just makes me want to stay with them in all honesty.Your speed won't be moderated unless you're in the top 5% of downloaders. Our boffins recently ran a trial to see how much our service was being affected. They discovered that, in certain areas, just 5% of customers were downloading such a large amount of content that it was affecting the service for other users in these areas. And we're not talking about just a few video clips. In some cases the top 5% of users were downloading as much as 3GB, just during peak times. That's around 750 music tracks in the space of a few hours. So, unless you're downloading an unusually large amount of information at peak times, we won't restrict your service and you can download to your heart's content. Willy
I'm looking at getting the XL 20mb jobby and this wont effect me/my sister/my dad all downloading at one time. Theres no way we would download 3GB+ in one sitting, so I'm still happy
