Waynio
So the british team hasnt really got the entries as it has had in the past, but i see the WBC as more of a casual "meeting up with old friends" kind of thing. As well as the competition and the ceremonies its a good get together and a time to have a good laugh.Favourites this year, i think the emphasis will be on Cesar Canas Vs Ben Savage. Ben reigning world champion, and Cesar who was unfortunatly out with injury last year (back problems) i think with their only been 2 rounds it could get quite interesting. personally i dont feel there is any other rider in the Master class that is upto standards with these 2 riders, competition focus etc.Who's betting who? and who will roll up in 3rd place? (in masters) its more of a british championship round in the master class i think theres 6 or 7 UK riders in the masters BUT will Brumotti (Expert WBC Champion from 2006) the italian stallion!!! pull through as 3rd in the world or will it be another brit to complete the podium?ALSO not to forget the young guns on the Saturday, my monies on local boy, Jack Carthy 10 years old and has come on this year really well, deffinatly a future boy, in the same class there is Tom Oliver and (i think) Ryan Crisp.Id like to see Master champ stay in the UK and id like to see an upset in some of the other classes, would be nice to see Sam Oliver up there, Thomas Hyland again and id hope for a good result in the minime class with the 3 boys above, just image a british 1,2,3 other peoples opinions and thoughts?Wayne. Waynio
we should have a TF betting a bit like "william hill" give them odds, 10 times world champion canas could be 3 or 4 to 1, and ben say 6 to 1, id put £20.00 all day on something like that for a return of £120.00 and my £20.00 back. it would be more interesting to put the bet on 3rd place. Ali C, Danny B, Andrei Burton, Brummotti.Wayne.EDIT: I forgot, im missing the BEST japanese 26" rider who is also a very nice guy, good to talk to and is a good laugh. Yoshi!!! only did 2 rounds last year and won them both,he was JUST behind me last year on overall standings. i would possibly place him as the 3rd man to fill the podium. In your expert opinion wayne, how do you reckon us brits will do in expert?Scott Edited July 29, 2007 by Scotty Evil1
Waynio
Expert has been a popular category over the last few years, and this year i would have liked to have seen the likes of Porter etc, to strengthen the back bone of the UK team. But i feel in yourself and Pat Donovan and Nicky G we should have it covered, if your riding anything like you were riding at Brimham rocks then you should be a World EXPERT champion scott (or possibly) i think it could go to the wire between you and Nicky G. i would really love to see a 1,2,3 for england, but i think 2 spots in expert would be covered by UK riders, if not, il be dissapointed SCOTT!!! grantham
been waiting almost a year now to get back to the worlds, a little dissapointing its only 2 rounds The master class will be really hard this year i think so many good riders, you all seem to have forgot about the czechs and slovaks in your predicitions, they always seem to have loads of master riders usually on an old monty that no-ones heard of but always seem to be there or there abouts.I think nicky g and scott will have a good chance in the expert categorie this year just a shame that Gav Bedford isn't going as well.James Hyland is also going so will be intresting to see how well he does this year in Elite, he looked like he was on it in Devon last week, I think people forget how good this lad is, he won world senior which is bloody hard to do and was uci junior world champion. All of the young lads will have a good chance to.were not flying out to czech until thursday so still got some time to ride this week. Sam Oliver
We have been riding with Mr Savage at a secret spot in west wales this weekend aswell as visiting the world mototrial at Hawkstone. Ben seems totally focused & seems very confident in his riding, pulling some veryimpressive moves. Are money's on team savage!
