streetjibs Posted July 26, 2007 Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 well after i spent the better part of the day being diagnosed and analysed by doctors after getting xrays of my left knee following a small but painful incident whilst riding last night. The xrays show that ive broken in half my patella bone and fractured bone surrounding the suprapateller pouch. Basically my knee is the size of a dinner plate and movement severly limited. On pain killers, anti-inflammetarys, 3/4 leg splints and gettin around on crutches. I return to hospital tomorrow to be assessed for surgery and have been worned that best case scenario im out of action for 6-8 weeks and will have to take it very easy after that and worse case scenario im going to lose mobility and range of movement through the knee joint. If it turns out its worst case scenario... riding will be out of the picture for some time... months to a year. Similar to Steve Marsh i would imagine. (he had knee reconstruction)Anyways the real reason for my post is to let people know that it doesnt take much to put u out of action and in this case it might be the begginning of the end for me. If not ill happly store your bike at my house if you post it here then i can ride it just to make sure its working cant promise you will get it back in one peice though. Ash-Kennard Posted July 26, 2007 Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 thats an absolute fanny mate, my dads been through a similar operation, he is now fully mobile but it has limited him as he doesnt want to f**k them up again. cant stand up on a bike, can jog, can walk, but should try to keep stress off his knees. but saying that we went mountain hiking last year so he cant be that bad. his was also from an impact.but as you alot younger i reckon you should get away with it. fortunately.but as said, ill have the karbon Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

georgieporgie Posted July 26, 2007 Report Share Posted July 26, 2007 you did exactly what i did my, knee was 5 inches in diameter when i fell off 8 pallets with a straight leg. They said i may not be able to ride for 4-5 months but it took 2 weeks (slightly against doctors orders) They operated took all the fluid out fixed it all up spent a week on hospital and now its fine and im riding like normal!it took me a while to start even doing 1 foot drops but you get used to it.. so i hope the same thing will happen to you (if you no what i mean :$ ).Get well soon Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
