And que the comments like 'a dildo'...

I've no idea because I don't know her...but avoid crap.

But...nothing electronic but something to remember...personally in your situation I'd save a tad extra and get a weekend away somewhere. You'll need hotel money and booze/food, I can pretty much promise you most of the weekend will be spend travelling or in bed. :)

And its a nice little present for yourself too.

Depends on what sorta thing your lady is into, but i bought my lovely lady a nintendo DS lite for her last birthday, for those times on the train travelling to uni, and for killing time between lectures next year now im not around at uni. i was a little unsure if it was suitable or not, but thankfully, shes played on it literally EVERY day sinse, and that was 2 months ago :) it went down REALLY well.

the obvious usual is jewellery and that kinda thing, but Tori doesnt wear stuff like that often (shes lovely enough already!) so i tried something different :)

Christ you annoy me alot.

Danny.

I think the fact that rory agrees with it is reason enough to say it's a pretty awful suggestion.

Joking aside, simon is right, it's not original, and dave looks bad enough without having to walk about town with a huge big teddy :P

And finish it off with a nice meal at pizza hut!!!

</not>

It's not about blowing it out of proportion. I mean how special is a cuddley bear? Sure it's a nice gesture and it puts a smile on there face. But they don't look back in the future and think "aww remember that <insert suckers name here> who bought me a cuddley teddy, took me to see <insert film here> at the cinemas and then for a meal in <where ever>.

Nah, sod that.

Thats just general everyday activity in a relationship, there's nothing special about that about taking her to the cinema mate. If you wanted to sit there and watch flashing colors she neednt be there, it's not as if there's some mad chemisty going on between you in a busy cinema. And by the time you get to spend some time together in a restaraunt where it begins to kick off then it ends. You either go home your seprate ways or invite her back for a shag? WOW!! She must of had the time of her life.

Taking her somewhere for a weekend or buying a personnel present will show you put at least a little bit of thought into it. I mean the whole cinema/meal thing is ok for first dates, something to do, a nice little surprise for no reason. But not a special occasion. Thats the way I see it anyway.

Taking her somewhere for the weekend, fair enough may be a little more expensive. Just choose a nice place, go for walks, talk, picnic, stargaze, long lie-ins together, long nights... etc. Something to lookback on and think that was special.

Not some nylon mass representing a bear, anyway since when do bears walk around with love hearts?

more likely to maul her face off!!

Go for a picnic in a really remote field, bottle of wine and some chocolatte, spend half the day pretending to listen to her, and then bang her.

But get her something to remember the occasion by, maybe a little teddy and a card, or something from the bodyshop, they do nice little gift packs. Give her a massage too.

It was my girlfriend's 18th last Thursday. I got her a white gold/diamond ring, like you I'm poor at the moment so went out with the intention of spending about £100 but the bloody salesman ended up getting me to buy her one with 2 diamonds. But like he said, you really can't go wrong with diamonds.

She really liked it in the end, got the display one which is too big and now we can't exchange it cos everywhere in town's closed due to water stoppage hahaha So she can only look at it for now...

i know that my gf once got me a pretty crappy necklace but i wore it everywhere with me and loved it slept with it on and lived with it on and it constantly reminded me of her, which was cute get something like that, no need to spend an arm and a leg on it, because its from you should be enough, "i got you this this necklace it cost me 10 pounds from argos, thats elizabeth juke, baby if you were a skywalker id be your luke"

Well since I've been riped for a suggestion i simply agreed to, which i sill think is i good idea because although its un-original its still a really nice thing to do.

If she is into the hole clubbing thing maybe take her somewhere a bit clubby (obviously not local) and then maybe check into a hotel which could b nice if you don't live together already?

If its good weather, a walk along the beach after a nice meal?

ORR If you want to keep it pretty cheap, use your skills as a photographer (I'm sure u already have many amazing images of her) and go to a photo shop and have it blown up pretty large and frame it. Maybe do a bit of photoshop just to really flatter her.

And this may seem a tacky thing but me and my ex always used to do something we had to put effort into for each over so we came up with such things as 'memory books' with pictures of all the places and things that we love, and some little home made movie things went down well too.
