N Roach
hey,I was thinking of moving to dual avid bb7 with sd7 levers. I ride a mixture of natural and street. Would there be any disadvantages of using these brakes on the front and the rear? Anyone who uses these brake can you tell me what they feel like on the lever, and if they lock?cheersnafan
basher
Ino a mate who ran them on a 221pr and they where beast they locked very nice and held good, he used 160 rotars.

ogre
if you look in nmc a guy had a dual bb7 setup (white frame, can't remember the brand) looked shit hot the bb7 brakes are amazingly powerfull and with the right cable+lever feel really good. the only dissadvantages are stress on the wheels (with the brake locked the hub can't move but the rim+spokes can still bend/stretch/twist) and if you were unluky enough to twat your rotor hard enough+bend it really bad it'd be the end of your ride.doesn't partz run dual bb7 to? Janson
I think it was Brett McCullough who talked about his heel hitting his outboard pad adjuster, making the brake suddenly grab further out/in on the lever depending on which way the adjuster was turned. May even leave the brake completely off if turned enough.
joe b
I use one on the front, however not on the rear, and it is amazing! It has so much bite and power so my guess would be that this wouldn't be any different on the rear. The only problem i have with them is that they over heat way to easily, so i find myself trying to slow myself down with my feet when going down hills, which can get rather annoying .But, if you want any advice i think Peter Haydon a.k.a. 'Haydon_Peter' either is using, or used, dual BB7s; so, PM him and see what he has to say about them !Cheers,Joe.

Meh, it'll be fine. New colour looks tacky. jammy: I think that problem is common with every disc brake system. Also, no caps needed, mate. Cap
Ive got one on the front its amazing, it died at last comp though and still hasn't fully recovered that was a week ago it did get covered in a fair bit of crap though.
PaRtZ
So what are you having to do in order to run bb7's on the hydroxx? What are the tech issues? That bike looks very nice.Although its just out of shot on the closeup picture, theres a large weld which joins the dropout to the seat stay, and the weld is in the way of the bb7 mounting bracket (the black bit) So ive had to grind away at the bracket so that its less in the way and I can set up the brake correctlyNot the best of drawings sorry
Greetings
God i love that Hydroxx... A bit worrying with the snapping mounts, whereabout exactly do they break? And Rich, how is the wheel flex? Is it noticeable? I'm going for a dual BB7 setup once I get my Triton, hope it's going to be nice stiff and safe.
