powerz
Right everytime so far that i have fell off i have had to buy a new lever because i pull the lever and the plunger thing stays in and doesnt return or does but very slowly.i was told to use sumthing thin to lube it up so i did this with my 04 lever and it never worked so i ended up buying a new 05 leveri stacked it afew days back and the plunger done the same in my new lever so i went back & cleaned the plunger/spring ect then wiped alil babyoil on it as i thought it would lubricate it alil then gave it a re-bleed with water, tonight i have gone to use it and after 10 mins max the plunger is returning real slow. Please help as this is really p***ing me off, surely everytime you stack it you dont have to buy a new lever. James Quigley
I think baby oil might be a bit too ''sticky''Clean it all up again and use a thinner lubricant. I use some weird 3in1 silicon lube thing (note not silicon sealant etc) works a treat.Absoloutly drown it all in lube, then reassemble it the squirt more lube in with the lever pulled and keep pumping the lever whilst squirting lube in there. Then just rebleed your brake and it should be huncky dorey.Well it works for me.P.S. The silicon lube I use is like WD40 but it's actually a lubricant rather than a degreaser or whatever. James Quigley
could work, I've never tried that though. also helps if you spray a load in ther once it's assembled and leave it for 10mins to soak in.If possible squirt some in where the hose attaches to the lever (to make sure lube is on both sides of the piston/plunger)

James Quigley
I know with mine it was the water bleed. The oil in maguras keeps the piston moving smoothly, I 'THINK' water seizes up the piston after a while, either by oxidizing the alu in the lever or whatever I don't really know, that's just my guess.I just give it a quick spray of lube every couple of weeks and it seems to keep it going. Janson
sure it's just not the lever blade bolt being too tight?
powerz
sure it's just not the lever blade bolt being too tight?Nah i know 100% its not that, as iv'e actualy tried it with the lever blade being off and pushing the plunger down with the end of an allen key and the plunger goes in then will sometimes get stuck or will return real slow. GyTrials
could try stretching the spring, it should make the lever blade return a lot quickersteve
powerz
I could but i tried that on my 04 lever when it happend to that and it didnt make any differance.
dave85
I can't find out the reason, but water bleeds seem to be to blame in most cases when the piston goes tight. I take the seals off, stick the piston in a lathe and machine a few thou off it, if you're careful you might be able to do the same with some fine emery.
