Del
Hi All, my first post so apologies if all this is dull.I've been looking for a trials bike on and off for a couple months now, I really didnt want to spend too much but it looks like you really need to spend a decent amount for a good bike. I really wanted to spend less that £300 for a trials just in case I dont get on with it.Anyway recent finds on the web have pointed me to these 2:-Da Bomb Team Magura - is the only thing good about this bike the brakes?http://www.bikes4trials.com/products.php?plid=m1b3s11p315Onza T Pro (a phone call to a shop recommended this but not sure if he was just trying to get a sale) - Cheapest price for one of these I've found on the webhttp://www.onyerbike.co.uk/buy.asp?id=1484&bike=trueI quite like the look/style of these 2 frames, I love the way the top tube slopes at the same angle as the rear, I know looks dont count for the way you ride but that's just me! Is there any advantage for this? I guess it gives more room? Now I'm only a beginner, I used to ride BMX in my youth (i'm no spring chicken) so I have a bit of balance and can do VERY BASIC stuff, (un gracefull hops, endo's etc). Is it really worth paying the extra for a T Pro? and if so, is it worth getting Magura brakes as un upgrade or will the csble brakes be good enough?Any advice appreciated especuially any other recommendation for a beginner bike under £400 preferably nearer £300!CheersDel
El Cristoff
hi mate, in my personal opinion i think it would be a wise idea to buy the T-pro, even though they have vee's. Dabombs are a wee bit short, have a really bad freewheel, and your right, the only good thing about them is the brakes.

Del
I'm after MOD (if that means 20"/19")For 2 reasons.. 1. I'm more used to BMXs and 2. they look easier to use.
Barbra
I'm after MOD (if that means 20"/19")For 2 reasons.. 1. I'm more used to BMXs and 2. they look easier to use.First i'd like to say..WTF is with that t pro's front brake cable! I bloody well hope they don't get dispatched like that from that shop!Second if it were me, i'd choose the t-pro over the Da bomb, the only thing better as has been stated are the brakes on the da bomb. But thats all down to personnel opinion, when i started trials vee's were more than enough for me. I'd like to guess and say that a t-pro would last a shit shade longer than a da bomb would too.EDIT: And i'm pretty sure with the Da Bomb its still running a 20" rear wheel, it just has a fatter tyre! though i could be wrong. This would be a problem when you want to upgrade your frame, or your rear wheel for something better! Edited July 19, 2007 by Barber

Looks like someone has offered him £300 as well though. I cant even reply to the post due to me being new.
