Walleee
Is your usage of 'thus' correct there?I'd have thought 'Hence' would fit better..... :$

Waynio
From a walk in point of view, id say that the shop i work in is probably the best trials shop, but i do tend to keep as much as possible in, i know we may not do "echo/zoo/gu" etc etc, but we have most/majority of what people want, and usually have all the new products people want to see, if the shop doesnt have it i personally usually do.its hard to stock as adam has said EVERYTHING in every colour and size and have it in a shop hence why mail order is probably better (ish).Wayne. max-t
Cant tell anyone ,but its a trials one.
Waynio
IMO max-t if this shop is going to be trials specific, the person running it needs ALL brands and components with upto date stuff, if they havent it honestly wont be sucessful. Aire Valley is sucessful with Trials but it could not run off trials. Its fair to say Tarty is sucessful for mail order, yes they could poss have a shop but then theres all the insurance and trading policies and stuff, it gets into the nitty gritty and bills like this on top of everything else over comes how much your raking in.The internet is so infront of everything else its old news by the time its in shops.Wayne. David20
My local bike shop (highland bikes) stocks a pretty large amount of trials parts, and can order pretty much anything in if they don't already have it, which is VERY handy for riders here . Waynio
all i would say is, someone opening a "trials specific" store, its going to be hard, you need to get known, get a reputation etc etc. it doesnt happen over night.Adam/Dave will know, it takes time and effort.i certainly would not consider opening a "trials" specific buisiness even if i was paid to do it. id have to do MTB's,BMX's,Hybrid's,DH bikes etc. id rather have a "BIG" all round shop than a big trials shop, a XC rider comes in, he doesnt really wanna buy trials parts, same with a BMX'er. Would be good to see more "BIG" shops more take on alot more trials orientated stuff, i feel some shops are weiry about it due to the "warranty" of trials and the way the bikes are abused/used. (for most people they understand what bike their buying, but like in anything you get people who are blind to the situation)Wayne.
Fixed Pantsâ„¢
Yeah, and the fact that there's only gonna be 20 people that can get to the shop without having to travel 100's of miles. Mail order can be used by anyone.
BONGO
bmx is wayyyyy bigger, and even then, bm shops find it tough to survive. It's only mailorder that keeps them going in most cases.bongo
JaMmY
Our local bikeshop in liskeard is starting to stock alot more trials bike parts and bikes!!!! Mainly because loads of people in liskeard have started trials biking!!!!
Captain Scarlet
I think there will either be very few or no trials specific shops at all.I mean, what percentage of Britain's population does trials riding?, it not like having a Video game specific store, as the percentage is much different.Of course trials is growing, but its nowhere near big enough to have a few trials specific shops, I think our local bike shops that stock the odd trials parts is the closest we can get.The bike shop I work out is pretty good for trials, most of the guys who work there are ex trials bikers, they stock Onza, Diamondback, and Phase trials bikes, and can order in lots of parts. For now, ordering from Tarty or Selectbikes is good enough for me.Besides, theres nothing quite like getting home from school or work and ripping open a package that has your name on it, containing trials parts. joe b
Due to trials being so small, it wouldn't really be feasible to do that unfortunately. There's only 2 or 3 shops on the whole country who stock a decent range of parts, so you'd have to travel miles to see anything!People are welcome to come and look at our place given a bit of notice, but the old distance problem comes about straight away! (Postcode PR5 6FN if you wanted to look on a map.)Partz - it is a bit like that, it's rare for someone to come in and leave without spending at least some money Ads
Tomm
If you were going to spec a complete new bike, and you didn't know what you wanted, then it would be sweet to take a trip up the Tartybikes and pick stuff off the shelf. But most people already know what they want because they've seen pictures/reviews on TF and elsewhere. So I can't really see the advantage in a walk in shop for 99.9% of people.
